Clinical skills development

Time: Open all day, 8:30 am – 4:00 pm

Course Description: Doctors enrolled in the simulation workshop are welcome to explore and practice at any of the clinical skills development stations that will be set up close to the simulation area. Trained PICU doctors will be available to guide you through the procedures and give you one-on-one feedback. We encourage you to drop in before or just after your simulation workshop.

Learning Objectives

• Provide safe, standardized, deliberate practice opportunities for PICU doctors and residents to improve their procedural skill proficiencies in airway management, chest tube insertion (Seldinger technique), central and peripheral line access
• Explain indications and contraindications of the above skills
